Yesterday I slightly rushed around London on my bicycle 🚴, I think I am becoming speedier (I did a citymapper estimated 45 minute journey in 35mins - quite pleased with myself).I spent yesterday morning party planning 🎈🎂 for a 2 year old. Children's birthday's are v important - no matter if they will have no idea what is going on, nor remember any of it - it needs to look good, VERY good 🎠. No more can you just buy some paper plates and cups, feed them jam sandwiches and blackcurrant squash, and throw in some party hats and those annoying things your blow through that uncurl and make SO much noise 📣.The birthday party needs to look like a 21st birthday party planned by a top party planner, but all in miniature. Which actually is incredibly fun 👸.I won't give too much away (I will obviously instagram many photos of the final result) - but if you are planning a party for a mini person - www.theprettylittlepartyshop.co.uk and www.thelittlepartyhire.co.uk are proving incredibly helpful 😍.So my next venture yesterday was helping a friend set up her blog. It turns out I know quite a bit about wordpress, and a fair bit about social media. It was a delightful afternoon, and we were really quite pleased with the result. If anyone else would like blog help, do give me a shout - although I think I'm going to have to start charging 😉Next stop was a quick pop into the Mason's Arms for a drink 🍻 as Victoria is leaving her job - I am so excited for you Vic, good luck with everything to come! And then onto Brixton, where we met Alex and Milton for dinner at Kricket in Pop Brixton which is really quite superb 👌. It is Indian and does small sharing plates 🍛🍝🍖- we had been recommended to get one of each from the menu, as there were 4 of us - so we went for it, and small plates of delightful things just kept turning up. This actually was a really good recommendation, as there is enough on each small plate to be split between 4 people to each get a taster and a little bit more. I really liked the Saphire Pakoras and the Hyderabad Baby Aubergine. It's all good though - the only thing I wasn't convinced by was the fish. I also had an excellent cocktail called Plummaharaja (a great name) 🍷🍇 which satisfied my sweet tooth, as sadly they were out of their only pudding 😢. What a good recommendation Alex! You can't book, and it is tiny, but I liked it a lot. I particularly like that they have napkins with 'KRICKET' printed on them, as if they were an actual handkerchief, with a name embroidered on. (I have also just discovered 'handkerchief' has a 'd' in it, I always thought it was 'hankerchief'... the 'hand' now makes so much more sense) I rather like it when this happens - the discovery of a word that isn't quite the word you thought it was. This morning I made myself a fun breakfast because it's Friday - and I'm off to do some cultural things this afternoon 💃Alice xxx
